The whole family devoured these cookies. I’m definitely making a double batch next time!

Sugar cookies are a cherished favorite, loved for their simplicity and versatility. These cookies, which originated in Pennsylvania in the mid-1700s, have become a cornerstone of American baking, often making appearances during holidays and special occasions. Their soft, crumbly, and tender texture makes them a delightful treat for any season. Whether you’re baking with family or preparing a batch for a gathering, sugar cookies are a comforting choice that evokes nostalgia and warmth.

Sugar cookies can be enjoyed on their own or paired with various accompaniments. Serve them with a glass of cold milk or a warm cup of tea for a classic combination. For a more indulgent treat, sandwich them with your favorite jam or a dollop of whipped cream. These cookies also make a lovely addition to a dessert platter, alongside fresh fruit or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
