Chipped Beef Crescent Cups
Chipped Beef Crescent Cups are an easy, crowd-friendly appetizer that combines a creamy chipped beef filling with flaky crescent roll pastry. The rich mixture of cream cheese, sour cream, and savory dried beef is baked inside individual crescent dough cups, creating a warm and satisfying bite-sized snack. Perfect for parties, holiday gatherings, or game-day spreads, these simple appetizers come together quickly with just a handful of ingredients.
Ingredients
| Ingredient | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Refrigerated crescent roll dough | 1 can (8 oz) |
| Cream cheese, softened | 1 package (8 oz) |
| Sour cream | 1/2 cup |
| Dried chipped beef, finely chopped | 1 jar (2.5 oz) |
Directions
Step 1: Prepare the Oven and Muffin Tin
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a standard 12-cup muffin tin with cooking spray or butter, coating each cup well.
Step 2: Make the Filling Base
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream. Stir until the mixture is smooth and evenly blended.
Step 3: Add the Chipped Beef
Finely chop the dried chipped beef and stir it into the cream cheese mixture until evenly distributed throughout the filling. Set aside.
Step 4: Prepare the Dough
Open the crescent roll dough and unroll it onto a clean work surface. Separate it into the eight original triangles, then gently reshape and divide the dough into 12 roughly equal portions.
Kitchen Tip
The dough does not need to be perfectly shaped. Slight variations will still bake beautifully and add a homemade touch to the finished cups.
Step 5: Form the Cups
Press each dough portion into a muffin cup, covering the bottom and gently pressing the dough up the sides to create a small shell. Be sure there are no large holes in the dough.
Step 6: Fill the Cups
Divide the chipped beef mixture evenly among the prepared dough cups, filling each nearly to the top without overflowing.
Step 7: Bake
Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the crescent dough is puffed and golden brown and the filling is heated through.
Step 8: Cool and Serve
Remove the pan from the oven and allow the cups to cool in the muffin tin for 5 minutes. This helps the filling set and makes the cups easier to remove.
Carefully loosen each cup with a small knife or spatula, transfer to a serving platter, and serve warm.
