Impossibly Easy Taco Pie is a delightful dish that combines the flavors of tacos in a convenient pie form. Lean ground beef 1 pound
Medium onion, chopped 1 (about 1/2 cup)
Old El Paso™ Taco Seasoning 1 packet (1 oz)
Old El Paso™ Chopped Green Chiles, drained 1 can (4.5 oz)
Milk 1 cup
Eggs 2
Original Bisquick™ mix 1/2 cup
Shredded Monterey Jack or Cheddar cheese 3/4 cup (about 3 ounces)
Old El Paso™ salsa (any variety) As desired for serving
Sour cream (optional) As desired for serving
Instructions:
Heat your oven to 400°F and grease a 9-inch pie plate.
Cook the ground beef and onion in a 10-inch skillet over medium heat until the beef is browned. Drain any excess fat. Stir in the taco seasoning mix (dry).
Spoon the beef mixture into the pie plate and top it with the drained green chiles.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, and Bisquick mix until well blended.
Pour the Bisquick mixture over the beef and chiles in the pie plate.
Bake for about 25 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top and bake for an additional 8 to 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Allow the pie to cool slightly before serving.
Serve your impossibly easy taco pie with a dollop of sour cream and your favorite salsa. You can also get creative with toppings like shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sliced avocados, and even jalapeños!
