Classic Three-Envelope Roast Recipe

Effortless Slow-Cooker Three-Envelope Roast

This roast is a go-to for slow-cooker meals because it creates rich, flavorful gravy with minimal effort. Using a trio of Italian, Ranch, and Brown Gravy mixes, the meat turns tender and savory every time.

Three-Envelope Roast

Ingredients:

  • Chuck roast – 3 lbs
  • Dry Italian seasoning mix – 1 packet
  • Dry Ranch seasoning mix – 1 packet
  • Dry brown gravy mix – 1 packet
  • Water – 1 cup
  • Salt & black pepper – to taste

Instuctions:

1. Season the Roast
Rub salt and black pepper all over the 3 lb chuck roast. Place it in the slow cooker.

2. Mix the Gravy
In a small bowl, whisk together the Italian, Ranch, and brown gravy mixes with 1 cup of water until smooth.

3. Combine & Add Veggies (Optional)
Pour the seasoning mixture over the roast. If you like, tuck in baby potatoes, carrots, or onions around the meat.

4. Slow Cook
Cook on High for 4 hours or Low for 8 hours for extra tenderness.

5. Baste & Shred
Occasionally spoon juices over the top. Once fork-tender, shred or slice the meat.

6. Serve
Ensure any added vegetables are cooked through. Serve with plenty of the flavorful “three-envelope” gravy.
