Creamy Chicken & Swiss Crescent Ring

This Creamy Chicken & Swiss Crescent Ring is the perfect combination of flaky pastry and rich, cheesy filling. The crescent dough is arranged in a circular “sunburst” shape that holds the creamy chicken mixture beautifully while baking into a golden, buttery ring. The blend of cream cheese and Swiss cheese keeps the filling smooth, flavorful, and perfectly melted in every bite.

Creamy Chicken & Swiss Crescent Ring

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
  • 3 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Parsley,  egg wash, or seeds for topping (optional)

Directions:

Step 1: Prepare the Filling
Preheat the oven to 375°F. In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken, Swiss cheese, cream cheese, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and black pepper until evenly blended.

Tip: Make sure the cream cheese is softened so it mixes smoothly throughout the filling instead of forming lumps.

Step 2: Arrange the Dough
On a parchment-lined baking sheet, arrange the crescent dough triangles in a circle with the wide ends overlapping in the center and the pointed ends facing outward.

Tip: Overlapping the dough creates a sturdy base that helps keep the filling from leaking while baking.

Step 3: Form the Ring
Spoon the chicken mixture onto the overlapping dough ends. Fold the pointed ends over the filling and tuck them underneath the center to form a ring.

Visual Cue: The finished shape should resemble a wreath with some of the filling peeking through the openings.

Step 4: Bake Until Golden
Brush the dough with egg wash and sprinkle with seeds or parsley if desired. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the crescent dough is deep golden brown.

Visual Cue: The ring is done when the pastry is puffed, glossy, and evenly browned.

Step 5: Let It Rest
Allow the crescent ring to cool for about 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Tip: Resting helps the melted cheese set slightly so the slices hold together better when cut.
