This 5-Ingredient  Slow Cooker Sweet Pea Macaroni is an easy, comforting dish that’s perfect for busy days. As it cooks, the pasta releases starch that blends with the  butter and water to create a smooth, glossy sauce—no extra steps needed. 5-Ingredient Slow Cooker Sweet Pea Macaroni

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz dry elbow macaroni
  • 3½ cups hot water
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cut into chunks
  • 1½ cups frozen sweet peas
  • 1 tsp salt (optional)

Instructions:

Step 1: Start the Base
Lightly grease your  slow cooker. Add the dry macaroni, hot water, and salt. Stir to combine so all the pasta is evenly coated.

Step 2: Add the Butter
Place the butter pieces evenly on top—don’t stir yet. This helps it melt slowly and coat the pasta evenly as it cooks.

Step 3: Cook First Round
Cover and cook on HIGH for 45 minutes. Then stir well, making sure nothing is sticking to the sides or bottom.

Step 4: Add the Peas
Stir in the frozen peas, pressing them gently into the hot mixture. If it looks a bit dry, add a small splash of hot water.

Step 5: Finish Cooking
Cover again and cook on HIGH for another 20–30 minutes, stirring once halfway through, until the pasta is tender and the peas are heated through.

Step 6: Let It Set
Switch to WARM, give it a final stir, and taste for seasoning before serving.
