
Georgia’s Heavenly Melted Toffee
This recipe creates a decadent, buttery toffee with a hint of sweetness and a delightful crunch from the nuts. It’s an ideal treat for any occasion.
Ingredients:
- Unsalted butter – 1 cup
- Granulated sugar – 1 cup
- Salt – 1/4 teaspoon
- Water – 1/4 cup
- Pure vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon
- Semisweet chocolate chips – 1 cup
- Chopped pecans or almonds – 1/2 cup
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Pan:
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Cook the Toffee:
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Stir in sugar, salt, and water until the sugar dissolves.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and cook until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage), stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and mix in the vanilla extract.
3. Assemble the Toffee:
- Pour the hot toffee onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top and let them soften for 1–2 minutes.
- Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the toffee.
- Sprinkle nuts on top and gently press them in.
4. Cool and Break:
- Allow the toffee to cool completely.
- Break it into pieces.
Tip: For an extra flavor boost, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top after the chocolate has set.
