Aussie Meat Pies

Ingredients:


1 lb (450g) ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 cup beef broth
1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (slurry)
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 sheets puff pastry
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

 


Instructions:


Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a pan, sauté onion and garlic until soft. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
Stir in Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, and beef broth. Simmer for 10 minutes.
Add cornstarch slurry and stir until thickened. Season with salt and pepper. Let cool.
Cut puff pastry into circles to fit a muffin tin. Line each cup with pastry, fill with meat mixture, and cover with another pastry circle. Seal edges and brush with egg wash.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Serve hot.
